Camp Hours: 7:00am – 5:30pm

Ages: Rising 1st grade* – Rising 7th grade
*your child must have completed Kindergarten by the start of summer camp to attend camp per NC Division of Child Development & Early Education regulations for School-Age Care for Seasonal Recreational Programs

This is a great opportunity for you and your camper to see where they will be attending camp and meet our directors and counselors. We will be able to accept final payments at Open House!
About Summer Day Camp
Graham Recreation & Parks Department is proud to provide Summer Day Camp for your child(ren). We stress a safe, supervised, caring, and FUN atmosphere. There are staff members who are CPR and First-Aid certified and have completed a full day of counselor training. Our children are divided into age-appropriate groups where they play sports/games, create crafts, and take weekly trips.
To Secure a Space at Camp
Any past-due balances must be paid before you can register. Space is limited.
Camp Payments Information
• 20% due at the time of registration
• 40% due last Friday of April (April 26, 2024)
• 40% due last Friday of May (May 31, 2024)
If you register past the above dates, the total amount will be due at the time of registration. If you would like to make partial payments ahead of time, please make arrangements to pay in person at the Graham Recreation Center.
All payments for the camp are due by May 31, 2024. Please check your Community Pass account to check your camp balance.

• If a family withdraws 2 weeks before the start date (by May 14, 2024) they will get a 100% refund
• If a family withdraws less than 2 weeks before the start date (May 28, 2024) they will get a 50% refund
• No refund if they withdraw once camp starts
Parental Agreement
- I understand that I must pay 20% of my child’s/children’s camp tuition in order for their spot to be saved
- I understand that I cannot change the weeks that I registered my child for and am responsible to pay for the weeks that I registered my child/children for even if they do not attend (this is to ensure that Graham Recreation maximizes camp opportunities for other families and those on the waitlist)
- Refunds – (GRPD Fees, Charges and Rules Policy Manuel, Sec. 2-2; {10})
• If a family withdraws 2 weeks before the start date (by May 14, 2024) they will get a 100% refund
• If a family withdraws less than 2 weeks before the start date (May 28, 2024) they will get a 50% refund
• No refund if they withdraw once camp starts - I understand that NO REFUNDS will be issued if my child(ren) is dismissed from camp.
- I understand that the remainder of my child(ren’s) summer camp balance is due before the first week of camp for my child(ren) to attend.
- I understand that group assignment requests cannot be honored and that children are grouped by age/grade for their safety.
- Late Pick-Up Fee – I understand that the program begins at 7:00am and ends at 5:30pm and I will be charged $5 per 10 minutes for late pick up of my child.
- I agree to come inside and sign my child in/out of Summer Day Camp. No camper may leave the building without a parent/guardian
Families will receive a copy of the Parent Handbook closer to camp.
Field Trip Information
2024 Field Trip Schedule – An overview of our trips will be sent via email before camp begins. Weekly emails and updates will also be sent to camp families. Please contact the Centers Supervisor, Marquis Graves, at (336) 570-6718 for more details.
As always, parents are welcome on our trips and we encourage you to help chaperone and meet us at the designated location. For trips like the big trips, we purchase group tickets and get a better rate. If you plan to go on those trips, please let Mr. Marquis know in advance and you can buy the ticket from him!
Volunteering & Employment
Volunteers
Ages: Must be 14 years old on or before the first day of camp
Volunteer Application
Requirements:
• Will need to be able to volunteer the majority of the 12-week summer camp
• Volunteers need to be passionate about being mentors and working with youth ages 5-12 years old
• Volunteers must be friendly and socially confident, able to communicate with campers and counselors, have a positive attitude every day, and have the ability to work in a team setting.
Camp Counselors
Ages: Must be 16 years old
Employment Application
Requirements:
• Must be able to work the majority of the 12-week summer camp
• Camp Counselors must be able to plan, organize, and implement a daily schedule of activities for a group of youth ages 5-12 years old.
• Camp Counselors must maintain a positive attitude every day, provide exceptional customer service, and must have reliable transportation.
Bus Driver
Age: Must be 18 years old

• A valid North Carolina Class C Driver License required, CDL with Passenger endorsement preferred
• Will need to be able to work the majority of the 12-week summer camp
• Assist in pre-camp planning and training
• Assist in the supervision, scheduling, and evaluating a staff of 10-20 camp counselors and volunteers
Director
Age: Must be 21 years old

- If a child needs a lunch/PM snack for the day, the director must know no later than 8:45am each day to be included in the daily lunch count
- Menus will be sent out through email to families
- Packed lunches are permitted but can not be refrigerated or warmed
- If families forget to pack a lunch and the child was not included in the lunch count, a parent/guardian will be contacted to bring them something to eat
*A Medical Statement for Children with Special Nutritional Needs for SFSP Meals is required.

Q: What is the trip schedule?
A: An overview of our trips will be sent via email before camp begins. Weekly emails and updates will also be sent to camp families.
Q: What is the additional cost for trips?
A: The cost for all trips is included in your general camp fees. You do not need to send additional money for trips.
Q: How do I know which group my child is in?
A: An email will be sent in late May with group assignments.
Q: Can I request my child to be in a group with their friend(s)?
A: Requests can be made to Centers Supervisor, but not guaranteed. Groups are divided by grade level.
Q: How do I cancel weeks my child won’t be there?
A: Cancellations must be made by emailing Centers Supervisor.
